Daily Money Management Services

Hartzler Enterprises provides basic money management services designed to meet the specific needs of each individual client.

Elderly Clients

Through home visits, elderly clients receive assistance with bill paying, budgeting, writing or cashing checks and handling their insurance and Health paperwork.

The plan of service is structured to maintain and improve the client’s sense of independence

  • Help with routine personal bookkeeping
  • Review bills to be paid
  • Enter cheques and deposits (including direct deposit of Social Security and pensions) in cheque register
  • Reconcile cheque register with bank statement
  • Prepare cheques
  • Assist with transfer of funds between accounts
  • Assist with CD renewals

Social Support Services: We often see that our frail elderly clients, living alone need different types of supportive services. We work with them, with their families or other responsible parties, offer guidance on resources in the community. We may call Social Workers for assessment, Home Health Agencies for in home support. If limited finances are a consideration we will look for low cost or subsidized services.

Hartzler Enterprises provides social support and business assistance to clients who require management in their daily personal and financial affairs. Dependable personal services with caring, respect and understanding.

Medical Bills and Health Insurance Service: This service is offered to make sure you do not pay medical bills that your health insurance will pay for you:

  • Review of medical bills that your health insurance has paid as much as is covered
  • If it has not, taking appropriate action with the provider of service, Health and/or other health insurance
  • File claims when necessary

Catastrophic Health Insurance Claims: This is a specialized field, which requires knowledge and experience in defining benefits, documenting deductibles and other expenses, and dealing with the insurance provider.

Health Care Applications: Many elderly persons find their monthly income is not enough to support them when they are no longer able to manage on their own, and must move into a nursing home.

  • Coordination of documents required to establish eligibility
  • Working with the local Health Authorities and Human Services Department staff to complete processing of the application

Tracking and trouble shooting of Health Insurance

  • Sort/match Health Insurance benefit explanations with invoices/statements received from provider (hospital/ambulance/doctor/other provider)
  • Review policy to determine coverage
  • Review questionable payments with policy;
  • Contact insurance company to determine their review procedures

Daily Money Management: is offered with focus on keeping track of income and where it’s going:

  • Recording all deposits and all debits into the cheque register
  • Preparing cheques to pay bills, as needed
  • Keeping investment and other financial statements in order
  • Assembling papers as needed for Income Tax preparation, and preparing charity and medical deduction records
  • Bill paying
  • Organize bank records
  • Maintain and balance chequing account
  • Organize medical insurance papers for filing claims and payment resolution
  • Organize tax papers for income tax filing
  • Moving assistance/streamline and organize personal effects

In reviewing mail, we can help you decide (learn) what is actually "official" business and what is a solicitation or sweepstake offer.

Paperwork organizing: A Few Tips

  • Decide what to save – what to toss
  • Begin by sorting thru mail to decide what needs to be: saved, what needs to be acted on, what can be tossed.

Purge unneeded paperwork. This includes:Stress

  • Excess – out/of/date
  • cheques – non tax-return bearing unessential. Ex. cheques for cash, groceries, etc.
  • Duplicative records – investment statements that repeat the prior statement;
  • Pay stubs after receiving for last stub of year if it contains info on deductions for insurance or other non 77 times that you may want to track
  • Catalogs – multiple issues of the same catalog
  • Magazines – Don’t keep the whole magazine just because of one article

Organize/schedule pertinent financial/personal information

  • Wills/trusts/power of attorney/health care power of attorney/bank accounts, investments accounts
  • Inventory of personal property
  • Inventory can be either written or video-taped

We will come to your home or office to assist you, as often as needed, in strictest confidence. At your request, we will work with your family as well as with medical, legal, and financial advisors. We can make special arrangements if you are away from home. Our rates are reasonable and we can set up a program of regular visits or handle smaller tasks as they arise.
